Details: Boards of directors sometimes find it challenging to establish efficient, fair and supportive rules for conduct of their meetings. This Mastery Lesson provides you with a set of standing rules that cover most meeting requirements for small boards. They reflect our understanding of the essential rules for great meetings.
These rules also provide for your group to adopt another authority, either Robert's Rules of Order or The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure, to be used if situations arise which extend beyond the scope of these rules.
Robert's Rules of Order describes small boards as those with twelve or fewer members. In our experience, small board standing rules may be useful for boards with up to twenty members.
