Workshop: What Every Board Member Needs to Know
|
|
Friday, March 12, 2010 from 12 to 1:30 pm in Seattle, Washington
Description: It's much easier to be a "mover and shaker" when you know what you are doing! Many people serve on nonprofit boards but never receive proper orientation about their duties and responsibilities. Review a director's legal responsibilities and learn your rights and obligations as a member of a charitable, educational or professional board. Enjoy the confidence of understanding your role and being prepared to take an active part in discussion and decision-making.

Testimonial: Martha Cohen, President of Conseco, a Seattle nonprofit, wrote this about her experience:
"I have just taken two sessions with Ann Macfarlane and Jurassic Parliament. Both were concerning board leadership, responsibilities and participation and both were excellent. Ann’s outstanding knowledge and organizational skills provided me with the necessary tools to provide effective leadership on any board. The materials and resources were plentiful and beneficial and she was able to gear them to my particular situation. She answered my questions completely and I came away with many “nuts and bolts” ideas that I can implement right away. I would recommend these and any Jurassic Parliament courses for anyone involved in serving on a board in any capacity. I came away better equipped to provide more effective participation."
